If you like to eat...like to cook, and like to entertain, the dining room is always an important place in your home. The room below has been used for many dinner parties - and many good times have been had here! Now the surroundings are more pleasant, which can add to the overall experience. This is helpful, because sometimes the food sucks!

Here's the dining room prior to the beginning of our project. Circa 2002.
Here is a shot from December, 2003; hence the bows!

Here's the dining room from another angle. Note the light centered "swag style"!
This is a modern day version. The line you see in the ceiling splits popcorn vs. none.
Floor before...
Floor after.
Life in a plastic bubble. That's what it felt like when we would seal ourselves upstairs. The dust from the install and finishing of wood floors is unending and uncontrollable.
View from the kitchen into the dining room. The floor is almost done! I think the night this picture was taken I carved the halloween pumpkin at that chair.
This is the dining room "niche". Basically a receptacle for junk. We decided to junk it. Check out that stylish kitchen in the background. Wow.
Heck yeah! Put wood floors in there too! With the hideous cabinet gone, another square yard of wood could be laid. What budget? By the way--cut a piece of stone to match the kitchen for this space!
Ask and you shall receive! Added: lights above and below the stone shelf. Also, air conditioner vent relocated to above the alcove and the former two (one of them is top left) became built in speakers.
All of the door frames on this floor have been replaced with new decorative molding. The green wall above got plastered over when the walls were replastered.
Just leaving the dining room into the hallway. No more popcorn ceilings and new floors on the way.
Same part of the hallway leaving the dining room, this time we have new floors!
Yep, that's a bunch of dust! Just wait until you see them finished.
Here's that extra square yard of wood again...In the kitchen the plate on the floor indicates a squeek that needed to be fixed.
New halogen pendant lights have been installed...centered. No more of that swag action! These are still the popcorn ceilings.
No more popcorn. The next step is have a coat of plaster put here, and on the walls.
